Preparatio Mortis looks at the taboo of death, to contemplate it as a force for positive energy: “Death urges us to have a more complete, more intense vision of life,” says Jan Fabre. Death is shown in the form of a sublime decor that seems to breathe and come to life, as a feline and more frenzied dance resurrects the performer – while also following the respiration of the music, written for the organ by Bernard Foccroule, as if it were weightless.
