The street is a land of freedom for Kubra Khademi, a space for protest and action. In this performance in the streets of central Bordeaux, the Afghan performer wearing a hat with pedestrian crossing signs makes her way around the public space, mechanically embodying the light turning from red to green. Through this simple action, she highlights a form of communication placing the pedestrian in the position of an obedient machine, while underlining “everyday misogyny”.
